The Vegan and Plant-Based Diet is … Anti-Aging!

It was Easter and I guess most of us met family and / or friends and have eaten a little bit too much, and not always the healthiest food. I have got a very good idea: let´s start eating healthy by now. If I would list all the benefits of the vegan and plant-based diet this article would become long as a book. A very thick book. Many thick books. Most of the knowledge is from the US. Scientists who are working with the universities of Harvard and Princeton did hundreds of studies about the effect that fresh and healthy food has on the body.

Vice versa, there are hundreds of studies about what negative effect unhealthy food (fast food, ready made meals, soft drinks etc) can have on the body. This is one thing. The other thing is, that this knowledge is very common in the English speaking world, but only very few doctors, therapists and nutritionists know about in the rest of the world. And what is more – in the US as well as in the UK there are many restaurants, café and bars, even some very elegant, where you can get this healthy food and fresh drinks. It is up to date to go there and to be seen drinking green smoothies and eating healthy food.

I am reading many English blogs and know how many celebrities are following this diet: Gwen Stefani, Liv Tyler, Gwyneth Paltrow and adorable 94 years old Betty White, my always favourite Golden Girl (by the way, she is the last GG alive …) to name only some. Most models follow this diet because it is not only healthy and keeps young and slim, but makes you glowing. Who eats vegan and plant-based becomes slim and stays slim, gets bright eyes and a clear skin (wrinkles disappear)! Aren´t these benefits that make it worth to live healthy? There are only some rules to observe: prefer vegetables, salads, fruits, nuts, seeds and fresh food to ready made meals. This is not very difficult.

  • TIPS

  • Tip number One and very easy to put into practice is to drink green and red and orange smoothies! You can either prepare the drinks at home or buy at the next smoothie bar.
  • Tip number Two: eat at least one salad a day – leafy greens, radishes, tomatoes, carrots, onions, cucumbers, courgettes/zucchini etc.
  • Tip number Three: get inspired by Matthew Kenney´s wonderful book Plant Food. I am reading in it every day, it motivates me always to cook healthy. Isn´t the cover beautiful (s. photo above)? Find this book and others by Matthew Kenney here.
  • Tip number Four: find recipes on the Medici&More-blog by using the menu bar (recipes).
  • Believe me, it was never easier to become and to stay slim and beautiful and to glow.
