This Is What Sartorial Artistry Means

YOUR, MY AND VIOLA´S FAVORITE

This jacket (s. photo below, presented by Viola Stingl) is my favorite by Brigitte Stajan. And it is not only mine, but yours and Viola´s too! When I am posting a photo of this jacket on social media it is always the most liked one. Light blue is one of the most beautiful colors, light blue velvet flatters everyone. The jacket is enormously elegant, can regardless be worn either with jeans or a silk skirt and on every occasion.

UNIQUE PIECES FOR UNIQUE PERSONALITIES

It was very nice, that Thomas Glatzer, the tailor working with Stajan right in the historic Alte Münze building* in Graz, was producing a new light blue velvet jacket when I did the photo shooting with him. Mostly, there is one piece of any model on stock. At best in two different colors or in two different sizes. Brigitte Stajan tries to keep the number of every model very low. But: if you love a jacket or a frock coat that doesn´t fit, you can order it and get it fitting like a glove.

A TAILOR´S WORKSHOP WITH A SPECTACULAR VIEW

I was impressed of the light workroom and the spectacular view: the building opposite is the so-called Reiner Hof. It is one of the oldest houses in Graz, the oldest parts are from the middle age. The facade opposite Thomas Glatzer´s workroom is typical Austrian Romantic. Must be very inspiring working there. The tailor was sewing, cutting and finally ironing and steaming the jacket and I tried to imagine how happy the lady must be who will soon get this beauty.

Care Tip

Very important for all those who love their velvet jacket: after having worn it, hang it on the clothes hook for some minutes in the bathroom after having taken a shower. Or steam it with the iron – bottom-up method. Keep the iron some 5 – 10 cm away from the fabric. Leave it in a dry room about half an hour before you wear it again.
