Many people want to change their lifestyle into a healthier direction and are very often bringing forward the argument that there is no time as their life is too busy in the moment. This is an argument, by the way, not the best, because a change is always possible – not from one day to the next, but step by step. Many people think they have to change everything within one or two weeks. The truth is the slower one starts the thing, the quicker you are on the road to success.
Before starting the holiday buy practical guides. Two of the best and even diverting are How Not To Die: Discover the foods scientifically proven to prevent and reverse disease, by Dr Michael Greger and Gene Stone, and The Thrive Diet: The Plant-Based Whole Foods Way to Staying Healthy for Life by Brendan Brazier. Reading one of them will make the decision to change your lifestyle much more easier.
The next step is collecting delicious recipes. You will find lots on Internet, I would especially suggest to start looking for smoothie recipes there. When it comes to meals, you will surely prefer something more special. If you are a cookbook collector like me – find here some basics for the new healthy by Angela Lidden, David Frenkiel/Luisa Vindahl, Anya Kassoff and Deliciously Ella – to name only some. All of them have been publishing books (some of them 2, 3 and more), the recipes are easy to understand and the meals quick and easy to prepare.
If you want it more refined and more elegant like me (in the plant based kitchen it has become popular in the last years to serve everything in a bowl – the breakfast, the salad, the soup, the main dish and the dessert) buy cookbooks by the most famous chefs in the world: Alain Passard, Joël Robuchon and Alain Ducasse (the dishes on the photos above are by them, in this order), the last is the chef with the most Michelin stars in the world.
Breakfast in one of Alain Ducasse´s hotels (Hostellerie de l´Abbaye de la Celle) – inspire yourself in your holiday resort and on the markets there and prepare to-do-lists and shopping lists when sunbathing. Have a nice holiday!
